Before I get to this week's show, I just want to take a moment to commemorate the first anniversary of The Sink, which passed recently without fanfare. What started out as a prototype for DaytonDailyNews.com has morphed into the 47 unbelievably dirty discussions that we all know and love. We recorded that prototype and first published it (to a limited LJ-based audience; it never saw the light of day at the DDN) on November 21, 2005.
A few weeks later, Carrie and I sat down to do the show again -- this time just for ourselves and our friends. We recorded the controversial (RR! John Lennon!)
second episode on December 9, 2005 (one year to the day before we recorded episode 47!), and our third on December 12, 2005 (one year ago to the day that I'm finally posting this).
To celebrate The Sink's first anniversary, here's
the very first episode (originally F-Locked) -- the one we did for the DDN. [I sound retarded in this episode, because I had headphones on the whole time, and couldn't get used to the time delay.]
Anyway (and I'm sure
the rest of The Sink crew agrees), I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for listening and writing e-mails and donating. It's been a lot of fun doing this show, and we're still having just as much fun (if not more) as the day we started. So thanks, and
keep the e-mails coming!
Welcome to The Sink #47! This episode features built-in audio commentary, Cindy's wrath, talk about
Blood Diamond, more infantastic microwave tips, the music of
Jonathan Coulton, and much much more!
Click to listen, right-click to downloadThere was so much material from this week's "session," that I'm tentatively planning to assemble a special bonus episode for later this week. (So that's why this week's episode kind of trails off.)
